Episode Summary:
In this episode of The Continuum, Kyle and Adam dive headfirst into a chaotic and hilarious discussion on artificial intelligence and its portrayal in pop culture. From Her and Ultron to unexpected Taylor Swift moments and the quirks of digital assistants, the conversation spirals delightfully into tangents about radio DJs, pop music, Bluetooth headphones, and the death of wired tech.
They explore conspiracies around cryptocurrency, reminisce about the evolution of music formats, debate the legitimacy of Joaquin Phoenix’s name, and even discuss the practicality of bartering versus modern currency systems. It’s a rollercoaster of tech rants, cultural commentary, and witty banter that reminds listeners to not take life—or AI—too seriously.

Kyle – And welcome back to the continuum, everybody. I’m Kyle, and in the other corner is my good friend Adam.
Adam – Hello.
Kyle – So let’s, Tell me about, AI, please.
Adam – Artificial intelligence. Yeah. I’m excited to talk about artificial intelligence, because it’s kind of. It’s one of those weird ones, isn’t it? So I, I mean, the question on everyone’s everyone’s minds, is will it take over and kill us all? The likely answer’s yes. Really? Isn’t it? So who’s going to get carried away? They don’t care about human.
Adam – These robot.
Kyle & Adam – Well, well.
Kyle – The thing is about artificial intelligence is it’s only, I think, in the same way you’ve got the internet and we’re talking about the on off switch for the internet. You’ll have an awkward switch for power. Really. And without without power, I can’t do anything.

Adam – It, it’s going to find a way, isn’t it? It will find a way. It’ll attach, like solar powered tiles from your roof on to it back or something, and keep it going.
Kyle – You talking about it like it’s a real thing that’s moving about already?
Adam – Yeah. I mean, you’ve you’ve seen the, the The Avengers film Age of Ultron, right?
Kyle – Yeah.
Adam – That’s just what Ultron is, right? That’s that’s pretty much it. It’s just artificial intelligence that’s taken over. Some sort of machinery that is used to, I don’t know.
Kyle – Yeah. And it just goes.
Adam – Goes roses in it. Yeah. And it can if things for itself and it’s, it will think you can all.
Kyle – In the end think. But AI is kind of also always seen as a negative things in it. I mean that’s what sells movie tickets. If you got your, you know my buddy called I as a movie it’s not going to do very well is, is. Well I did you watch that. So it talk about movies all bloody time but that one was Jack when Phoenix quali Joaquin became the joker.
Kyle & Adam – Is is a. Yeah.
Kyle – He’s he’s watching. It’s a check one actually. Like, Jaguar slash Phoenix is is it for the.
Adam – Wait, what.
Kyle – Is a is why.
Adam – It’s pronounced Joaquin, isn’t it?
Kyle – I think you’re making that up.
Adam – Is. That’s how it’s pronounced. Are you googling it?
Kyle – Yeah, I’ve got a Google list now because I was watching another show the other day where I’m sure that had Jack Quinn’s in. I think Jack Quinn is supposed to be like a Jaguar slash.
Kyle – Yeah. Phoenix thing.
Adam – I.
Kyle & Adam – Which.
Kyle – Do you think that’s his real name?
Adam – No, it’s not a queen. No, it’s not his real name. I don’t think I have a feeling he has. Yeah, I’m pretty sure he had another name, but I can’t remember what it is that’s going to. You’re finding it out on you because that’s going to drive me. Not.
Kyle – Okay. I’ll. I’ll fund off on that now. But he was in this, other film called her. Yes.
Adam – With a Scarlett Johansson as the voice of the computer.
Kyle & Adam – Yeah.
Kyle – Oh. Unless his other name.
Kyle & Adam – Leif.
Adam – Yes, it is, it is. Yeah. Leaf.
Kyle – Leaf Phoenix.
Adam – Was it. Leaf Phoenix was.
Kyle – Phoenix. Yeah. Phoenix.
Adam – That’s not a real name is it. Let’s face it.
Kyle – No, it’s probably not. I was going to say. I thought I said that was going to be the say the fake name. Like your parents will call you, you know, a queen and you know, you make up Phoenix, but not the other way around.
Kyle & Adam – All right.
Adam – So it’s all made up.
Kyle & Adam – I don’t know.
Adam – I think it’s all made up because nobody’s got a surname. Phoenix.
Kyle & Adam – No.
Kyle – But, there was that movie her where he. I don’t know if it was Scarlett Johansson or.
Adam – Yeah, I’m pretty sure it was. Pretty sure it was, he falls in love. Yeah, but.
Kyle – He. Yeah. Falls in love with the film.
Adam – And that’s a really weird film because doesn’t.
Kyle – It just follow weird.
Adam – Sexual intercourse with it?
Kyle – Oh, yes.
Kyle & Adam – Yeah, yeah.
Kyle – It’s, it’s of course it’s what you do. Yeah. Yeah, sure. Where are you going? To take the fall. Why wouldn’t you? And then you found. Then you found out that she’s been sleeping with like everybody else. That is the same operating system. Goes.
Adam – Yeah, because isn’t it? Isn’t it about Siri? Isn’t it Siri? It’s kind of like based on Siri.
Kyle – It’s not far off. I don’t think it’s far off like a Siri kind of thing, but it doesn’t work. I’ve tried. Unless unless I is trying to remain stupid, you know, to fool everybody. I’m sorry. It doesn’t work.
Adam – It is. I’m sure it is.
Kyle & Adam – No. Yeah.
Adam – Yeah, it’s don’t trust.
Kyle – I’ve tried numerous times. Some like because my version is, you know, the hey Google kind of thing and.
Adam – Say that just setting on his phone. So yeah.
Kyle & Adam – Yeah.
Adam – Check what we did that on the on another one of our podcasts. We said the Siri, you know, the series thing and
Kyle & Adam – Yeah.
Adam – It you were I was listening back to it on my car radio and it you saying it set my car radio off? Set my phone off. Sorry. I was like, God damn it.
Kyle – Weird.
Adam – You don’t even sound like me. You have to have that work.
Kyle & Adam – Yeah.
Kyle – But that that’s the thing. It’s not really intelligent then is it’s hard is not pick up the voices. Half the time ago. Hey Siri. Oh sorry. You know like a balance of what’s.
Adam – Going to happen again.
Kyle & Adam – It.
Kyle – We’ll call it something else. And you ask it to do something and it goes, I don’t understand.
Kyle & Adam – And you go.
Kyle – Okay. The other day I put on, I didn’t know what to listen to, and I was driving sudden. Want to have to try to sit there and find out something to play. So I just said to my phone, just play some cool music. Guess what? I played?
Adam – Oh, cool. So.
Kyle – Oh, it was Taylor Swift. Of course it is Taylor Swift.
Adam – That’s pretty cool.
Kyle – Music. Well it it it is. This thing is I.
Kyle & Adam – Yeah, I.
Kyle – First of all I thought phone. You do not know me at all. This is supposed to be because you’re supposed to be.
Adam – Getting to know me. You know, we’re supposed to be building a relationship. You don’t even know what my favorite songs.
Kyle – Yeah. You keep showing me stuff in my feed I’m not interested in, you know? And now you’re playing Taylor Swift. I’m sorry if this is a real relationship, I think it would be done with. But, you know, it’s not going to work. Yeah. But I must say, on a back to back to Taylor Swift, you know, we enjoy our music.
Kyle – But one thing I detest is the radio.
Kyle & Adam – Yeah.
Adam – You and I, you.
Kyle – And when I was listening to for those listening to Taylor Swift, I think the song called me or, or something like that and I was like, oh Christ when it first came on. But you know, after, you know, after about a minute you kind of start getting into it and you had Bobby in a little bit, you swaying all over and it’s like, hold on, there are people still on the road.
Kyle – I can’t be swaying all over the place. You know, it is dangerous. And that’s why this is pop music, isn’t it? Pop music is supposed to be okay. No, but half the problem that you’ve got with with the radio.
Adam – Is produces pop music. It means popular music, and it doesn’t necessarily mean we would like it, but go on.
Kyle – No, but the problem with it is the radio. It’s, the I’m setting, you know, soapbox here, but the radio just it ruins everything. You’ve got these adverts that are taking up half your listening time. Yeah. It really if you think you’re driving, you’re listening to radio adverts. And on that note, let let us, please talk about our latest sponsor.
Adam – Where we back?
Kyle – Right up. And this.
Kyle & Adam – Yeah, yeah, we’re.
Kyle – Back after this.
Kyle & Adam – Break.
Kyle – And on top of that, you’ve got these numpty DJs, that’s all. Trying to be funny and, what is it with, radio DJ especially? So I’m taking up all the time now. But when you got the radio DJs, when especially some of the some of the female DJs here especially, they’ve got to have deep and I want to say soothing voice but just kind of slightly rough.
Kyle – They’ve been smoking for at least 5 or 10 years.
Kyle & Adam – It’s gotta sound smooth. It’s got to be there for the listeners. You’ve got to put them at ease.
Adam – Well, that’s what it is that they’re trying to. It’s trying to be a comforting voice in people’s ears. It is what it is.
Kyle – Grinds me the wrong way.
Adam – But then you get some deejays as well. Like, I mean.
Kyle & Adam – This is.
Adam – Showing our age, but radio one has gone so bad these days with the deejays, the music, you know, they’re all like.
Kyle & Adam – Just.
Adam – Wacky assholes. Just do you know what I mean? But it’s just.
Kyle & Adam – Of that.
Adam – Shouting in your ears the whole time. So chill out, dude. It’s six in the morning.
Kyle & Adam – So. Well, yeah.
Adam – You should not have that much energy upset.
Kyle – And then all they talk about I think, and this is our age, but all they talk about is they go, oh yeah, I when I was, it was on Instagram last night on the Insta and singer said hold on if you’re not on Instagram on your phone, you know, doing whatever, you’ve got to listen to people talk to you about Instagram or any other social media, in your ears as well, telling you about.
Adam – What’s going on. They try to sound like they’re the hip and they’re down with the kids, you know?
Kyle – Yeah, I don’t also get the whole,
Adam – Before they get booted out. Is it the U2?
Kyle – Yeah, even they’re just it’s way too far for me.
Kyle & Adam – So.
Kyle – But even the on radio one you’ve got, I call it like, is it the London London rap kind of. I mean, if that’s a thing of crime grime. Yeah.
Adam – Something like that. On.
Kyle – But again they’ll just, they’ll make up the make up crap.
Adam – Yeah.
Kyle – And this is really showing my age because I know, I know probably these. Yeah 1415 year olds all going back. This is the best.
Kyle & Adam – Yeah.
Kyle – But just because you change the way you say something doesn’t mean it rhymes. You know, when you go.
Kyle & Adam – Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Kyle – I’m driving my car, I’m going very far and I’m playing my keyboard. You know, just because you put an O at the end of a word doesn’t make it rhyme.
Adam – You know?
Kyle – That’s the way it works.
Adam – Guys know, like, we’ve just all been given an insight into how your mind works when it comes to freestyle rap.
Kyle – Which is even better.
Adam – Yeah. In this day, one of those based on real life events. You know, these I can’t even think what they called what was like if you see an eight mile, you know, where they have the rap off. So I’m saying.
Kyle – Oh yeah, the rap battles.
Adam – Rap battles. Yeah. That’s sort of Jesus, I don’t know. I don’t know the words for that, that rap battles you. Basically what I was trying to get at is that you don’t want to be getting into rap battles, because you just can’t stick them rhymes. Brother.
Kyle – The, it’s it’s not going to happen.
Kyle & Adam – Although.
Kyle – Seeing people that can is phenomenal. Yeah. The way, the way they can just flow and I’m sure it’s just a practice thing.
Kyle & Adam – Oh.
Adam – No. You gotta have something in your mind. You know, you’ve got to be able to think quickly and just be like, yeah, I’ve got this. I don’t I confidence as well. I mean we.
Kyle – Yeah that’s you’ve got to be good I don’t think any any person can do it. But I must say I go back and listen to some of the old hip hop, you know.
Kyle & Adam – NWA or the.
Kyle – You know, like Del Tron, and even so.
Adam – I was.
Kyle & Adam – Wrong.
Adam – I’ve never heard of them. Snoop.
Kyle – Okay, I’ll have to. I’ll have to send you a few links, but know you just listen to some, you know.
Kyle & Adam – Why.
Kyle – You don’t like it.
Adam – It’s not really my style.
Adam – I don’t love it. So.
Kyle – Yeah, I didn’t. I wouldn’t even say I’d go out and yeah, I wouldn’t go out and go buy an album because no one does that nowadays anyway, do they?
Kyle & Adam – All right.
Adam – Yeah, it’s all on Spotify actually. I want whatever.
Kyle & Adam – Yeah.
Kyle – Do you think they do you think they’re still really. So I want to. So do they still release albums and CDs? Yeah.
Adam – Yeah, I’m pretty sure. Pretty sure you can still go.
Kyle – Because you even walk into a place like HMV now.
Adam – So I actually went to HMV a few weeks ago, and nowadays it’s more of a toy store than it is a music and video store.
Kyle – Music and TV is exactly what I was going to say.
Adam – Toys. It’s crazy. I wasn’t expecting it.
Kyle – So what is do you recall what HMV actually stood for or stands for?
Kyle & Adam – No.
Adam – Look. Look it up. Her Majesty’s volume’s because you know how music was done in volumes back in the day. I’m making that up.
Kyle – Yeah, because I was wondering if it’s. I’m sure it’s like Her Majesty’s vinyl or, Oh, sorry. No, it stands for his. It stands for His Master’s Voice.
Kyle & Adam –
Adam – Well. Oh, yeah, that makes sense, because it’s the dog, you know. They’ve. Yeah, it’s that little dog.
Kyle – Yeah, it’s listening to a phonograph. So cylinder.
Adam – Phonograph cylinder, isn’t it? Gramophone. Yeah, that’s.
Kyle – What it says. It says HMV stands for His Majesty’s Voice, the title of a painting by Francis Masters. The voice of a. You’re listening to a phonograph cylinder roll. What? Bought by the Gramophone Company in 1899?
Adam – Sort of both. Right.
Kyle – So do you think a phonograph was like the original and gramophone was the brand that just bought them out?
Adam – Sounds like it.
Kyle & Adam – Yeah.
Kyle – That reminds me. That’s, you know, there’s certain brands that’s come out that owns that aren’t the original brands, but somehow better or more well-known than the original brands. And one of those is Oreo.
Adam – All right. What were they then? Before? Who owned. But you say, was you saying there was something else that was the original that came before it, and then they copied it and they made it better. So you can’t,
Kyle – Yeah, exactly.
Kyle & Adam – Yeah, yeah.
Kyle – Oreo just seems to have been the better.
Adam – That’s a branding.
Kyle – A better company or a better branding. And yeah, this kind.
Adam – Of flavors, probably just more.
Kyle – Sugar left is.
Adam – Just normally the key to it, isn’t it? Something like that. More sugar. It’s what they do.
Kyle – Have to, left front.
Adam – And go. Going back to the beach. They then. So. Yeah. You were saying, do they still do CDs? I’m sure they must do. But vinyl is also making a comeback, so that’s something. Drinking. That’ll be a blue two final player. So we could listen. All right. You know what I mean. So you can let’s. I mean, I probably already is.
Kyle – Right. Okay.
Adam – It’s going to be.
Kyle – Oh no I know one person who listens to bottle. Who who else is listening to.
Adam – Yeah. They do it because they’re in their 90s.
Kyle – Yeah. They don’t have a choice at this.
Kyle & Adam – Point in the door.
Kyle – They they know how they vinyl player works and they sticking to it. They’ll be listening to the.
Adam – Way of ways.
Kyle – That you made my album.
Kyle & Adam – Awesome. I wonder how.
Adam – They want to play. I wonder how many people in their 90s like Eminem would be interesting. No, that’s a good question. Takes me back. The reason I was asking that kind of takes me back to something we were going to. We were wanting to talk about is the the light loss of, wired technology like wired headphones and things like that.
Adam – It’s, it’s all progressed onto like, Bluetooth, AirPods and things. And.
Kyle & Adam – Oh, yeah.
Adam – I mean, I’m not I’m not big into AirPods. I have some or have a variation of AirPod because I know if I spent £150 on actual Apple AirPods, I would lose them. And lose them instantly.
Kyle – Because they’re two.
Adam – Tiny little, you know, two little tiny little stick things.
Kyle & Adam – Yeah, that.
Adam – It’s just so easy to so, so easy to lose. I’ve almost lost mine a few weeks back and I was like, well, that’s validated. Why I wouldn’t ever go out and buy 150 pounds worth of of headset, whatever.
Kyle – But do you think, do you think they’re even worth that amount?
Adam – So what? The only reason they cost so much is because they got Apple written on.
Kyle – It’s really, really small writing.
Adam – Really small writing. We’re talking like from one font size of.
Kyle – Yeah, one point they did the same thing as IBM when they, manipulated the, the atoms to create like IBM. They’ve just got like Apple inside inside. They know. Yeah. But.
Kyle & Adam –
Kyle – I agree with you though. It’s it’s, I’ve got I’ve got some I want to say good, good earphones. Quite particular about, I really want to have good sound can.
Kyle & Adam – Yeah.
Kyle – And. Yeah. I’ve got a tendency I was thinking about this the other day. I’ve got a tendency to also buy a lot of shit because sometimes I can’t be bothered to have a look and you go.
Kyle & Adam – Like.
Kyle – Why is this £150 and the other one’s 50. You know, I kind of think I buy the.
Adam – 50
Kyle – Quid. Yeah. It’s. Yeah, yeah, that’s a few. Could look one looks exactly the same. Yeah. It’s probably made in the same factory. It’s just the, the rejects and. Yeah that, that’s precisely it. The rejects. That’s. Yeah. Nobody wants them.
Adam – And they, they last for about a year. But you know if I’m paying. So I think of something like £40 for my, for my AirPod type knockoffs. I put a lot of research into finding them, like seeing what other customers for this on the other know how much of that is paid. You know, paid for by the company.
Adam – Just like, oh, if we’ll give you a set of these and then you write up a good review for us, who knows? But no, I bought I did it have research, bought mine. Went to the gym the other day. I had one and I was going for a swim, so I didn’t really need them, but I put one in.
Adam – Assumed the rest.
Kyle – When you’re swimming.
Adam – No, no, no. Before, on my way to the gym. Sorry. And, Yeah, when I got to the gym, I was like, right? I thought I had the rest of it on me. So I was like, oh, I got into the changing rooms, took the headphone out, and I was like, oh, I haven’t got it on me.
Adam – I must have left it in the car. I’m just chucked in my bag anyway.
Kyle – Could I find the things?
Kyle & Adam – No.
Adam – I had basically one earbud, the, once the battery was out. What do I do with it? It’s pointless. It’s worthless. Throw away. Turned out it was in a random pocket in one of my things that I hardly ever use at home. So, like, my dressing gown, I hardly ever use. So, you know.
Kyle – The.
Adam – About three days later, I was. I was convinced that I’d lost them. And, like I say, validated why I didn’t want to pay 150 for.
Kyle – Yeah, but this is we were sounding old, but you, when you’ve got wired headphones, you know, it’s just it’s reliable. You know, you can just. I’ve got a I’ve got a set of headphones. Mind you, I’ve never tried, but I’m sure if I just, they’ve got a little depth to for Jack as well. So they’re all Bluetooth.
Kyle – But then I can also take them out and plug them in as well if I need. So I doubt the sound quality or the even the noise canceling is going to be. Noise canceling is probably not going to be there.
Kyle & Adam – But yeah.
Kyle – The wires that were a pain in the ass.
Adam – Yeah, they do get cool even now, time to time. But if you weren’t losing.
Kyle – But for now, I see. No. But when I see a person, you know, and they they’re walking down the road and they got their big headphones on and they’ve got a wire dangling, I’m like, who’s this lunatic that’s got a wire? And you get the times, bro.
Kyle & Adam – Yeah. So.
Kyle – But then seeing that, you know, we’re doing a podcast, we’ve got headphones on that obviously wired, and I don’t know why. It’s because we’re I was we don’t have a choice, I think.
Adam – Yeah.
Kyle – Exactly.
Adam – But same right here. We’re not going to go you know we’re not on the go. So they need them.
Kyle & Adam – Yeah.
Kyle – But I am I don’t know what the AirPods are like, but I’m quite particular about the type of headphone that, that I’ve got to get because I don’t like these. Everything you look for. Nice. Although I want to say that in-ear ones, you know, with those little like silicon.
Kyle & Adam – Caps.
Kyle – That go like into your ear canal and like almost touching your brain, you know, to stimulate the senses.
Kyle & Adam – Yeah.
Kyle – I don’t like those. They just. I don’t know if my ear canals are too big or something, but I was for.
Adam – Loud like it. Yeah. You know, you can get different silicone bits.
Kyle – I’ve tried them all. I’ve tried them all. You just know. I don’t know what I’m supposed to do. So, like the.
Adam – Biggest ear canals in the world.
Kyle & Adam – That could be a.
Adam – Guinness World Record. I’ve. We’ve said before about how much of a joke that book is. You could just enter the person with the biggest canals. Yeah, but.
Kyle – Then people go stupid with that, don’t they? Then it becomes a competition.
Adam – Yeah.
Kyle – True. It’s it’s like this. It’s like those tubes that people put in the ears, you know, like this little at the tunnels.
Adam – Is that what they call now? Is it?
Kyle – Yeah.
Adam – Spaces.
Kyle – I, I, I want to call them tunnels.
Adam – Yeah. Okay.
Kyle – But again, I look at that and go, actually, you know, if you got a, if you got a hole that’s maybe I want to say a mil or two mil. I say it looks okay. You got these lunatics, you got fucking dolphins diving through these holes. That’s just mental. So you go to Crufts.
Adam – The dogs are all right. It up.
Kyle & Adam –
Kyle & Adam – Yeah.
Adam – You know.
Kyle & Adam – Okay, so this happened again?
Kyle & Adam – Yeah. So, yeah.
Adam – But, you know. Yeah. You don’t need to get the silicone headphone bits. Have you seen the, bone conducting ones that go on, like the outside on your temple or something, and you hear your music that way? That’s bizarre. Yeah.
Kyle – You just want to be able to use those for swimming as well, aren’t you? Yeah.
Adam – That’s pretty cool, I think.
Kyle – I think you can. Yeah. Because it’s, because it works on the stimulation, on the, like the bone or.
Adam – Yeah. So there’s no like whatever mix. Well, there is electronic, so we’d have to be electronics. Of course, it would.
Kyle & Adam – Also could have a.
Kyle – Few figures of stuff out.
Adam – I don’t know it scientists. Sorry.
Kyle – And why this is just us. The next thing.
Adam – This is what it’s all about. It, you know.
Kyle & Adam – Well.
Kyle – I so this is the point of consumerism. It’s, you know, it’s is I think it’s good is it continues to evolve our technology and keeps moving forward. Although.
Kyle & Adam –
Kyle – Can I, can I get onto this other conspiracy? It’s kind of linked, but I was thinking about this the other day, and I’d like your opinion.
Kyle & Adam – On.
Kyle – And is I was thinking the other day how, you know, you’ve got your bitcoins and your currencies, and you know how everything’s kind of driven towards these online currencies and that now, and if you think about it, how much how much cash do you even have physically now in your house or on your person? Yeah. I want to say.
Kyle – 9 to 1.
Adam – P oh, I haven’t checked that. But yeah I think I’ve got about £40 on me in cash.
Kyle & Adam – Yeah that’s good.
Kyle – Good. Not many people are using cash now. And I was thinking the other day, why why are they going, why is there this push to kind of go online. And it is a matter of,
Kyle & Adam – Oh, what do you.
Kyle – It’s easy, solid data.
Adam – It will be on the world currencies won’t it. But it’s got.
Kyle – Yeah, well that’s crazy.
Adam – I don’t think it’s going to work this thing. I think it’s going to be like, revoked by all the governments around the world. They’re going to be like, nuh What do you think?
Kyle – If they’re going to put Bitcoin way or something?
Adam – I mean, like they’ll, they’ll allow Bitcoin and all other cryptocurrencies to carry on. But unless there’s one over overruling cryptocurrency then it’s just not going to work. If the whole point coin.
Kyle – Is is the currency isn’t it.
Kyle & Adam – No.
Adam – Dogecoin.
Kyle & Adam – There are others.
Adam – There are others, there are others, definitely are others that are trying to like, take off. But this is the thing, right? And obviously, you know, in order you’ve got a mine for Bitcoin and things like that which is just it’s just ridiculous. You know much about that. Well I think mining for Bitcoin, I think.
Kyle – The points of the thing, the points of mining is to also control the amounts of Bitcoin that’s available. Again, I’m not I’m not into economics, but I think it’s to control the amount of currency that is available to keep it at a certain level. And to stop certain countries or whatever else just to pump money out.
Kyle – You know, you get things like causing inflation. If there’s too much money, then, you know, you cause inflation.
Adam – Quite like, but like Britain in, in Covid times or whatever it was when they bought.
Kyle – In Britain in Covid, all.
Adam – The extra money is.
Kyle – Yeah, you’ve got Zimbabwe for example, that went through that inflation at some point. I mean if you guys ever heard about that, but, you know, you’d have to buy a loaf of bread for like making up the number now, but it could be like three millions and dollars, you know, just for a loaf of bread. It’s just not worth anything.
Kyle – But my whole conspiracy that I kind of got to was that I think currency in itself was a way.
Kyle & Adam – For.
Kyle – Governments, or let’s call them empires or kings at the time, to be able to tax you. Because prior to prior to currency, everyone is bartering.
Kyle & Adam – Yeah.
Kyle – And the whole thought of, oh, well, you know, bartering is a pain in the ass because, you know, you know, you’ve you’ve given away a dog and, you know, they’ve given you two cows or, you know, you’ve you’ve got six.
Adam – This person gives you the people, you know, they’ve really messed up their they’ve just got a dog for two cows.
Kyle – It is they’re desperate. The need of a herd. Really. But you know, I think I think we got driven into this thing of saying, oh, you know, bartering is bad, you know, make it easy with currency. But it’s like, well, no, it’s because you can’t tax bartering, can you? You can’t go, well, hold on. He got, he got he got a cow.
Kyle – How do I get half the cow? You know, that kind of exchange. So that’s the that’s the
Adam – Well I don’t yeah, I don’t know. So are you suggesting that crypto is going to take taxes out of play?
Kyle – I think crypto, should.
Adam – We discuss that on the next one? Yeah, let’s let’s go on time. I think we have to.
Kyle & Adam – Go.
